SENIOR PASTOR

Pastor Kevin Martin

Pastor Kevin Martin

Pastor Kevin was born with his toes in the sand under the neon lights of Panama City Beach.  He grew up active in his Presbyterian congregation and youth group.  After high school graduation, he left the beaches for the big city of Atlanta.

The time in Atlanta was spent at Oglethorpe University earning a degree in Psychology with minors in History and Philosophy.  He also discovered Lutheran worship and theology for the first time, and felt right at home there.  After college, the great experiences in youth group he had growing up led him to positions as Youth Director at All Saints Lilburn and then Trinity Lilburn, helping both congregations rebuild flagging programs.

However, he questioned if he had a call to pastoral ministry.  After a few years, he turned his sights to Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in South Carolina.  There he earned his Master of Divinity and certification in Mission Development while assisting at Providence Lexington.

Pastor Kevin took his first call to Celebration Lutheran in Mount Juliet, Tennessee in 2007.  While serving as pastor the congregation grew 7 out of 10 years and became debt free. Celebration established themselves as a community-first congregation, providing land for the local cooperative ministry and training space for the county EMS.

After a great deal of prayerful consideration, Pastor Kevin resigned his call in Tennessee to accept a call as Senior Pastor at Prince of Peace in July of 2017.  Joining him in Atlanta is his wife Heather, and their three children:  Ashlyn, Braeden, and Emilia.   In his spare time, he enjoys soccer, PC gaming, rooting for his favorite football teams, and reading old sci-fi stories.

Ed Pucko, III

Ed Pucko, III

A very formal name for a very warm, informal person. Originally from Florida, Ed has made Atlanta his home for over 27 years. His personal mission: To serve God and my brothers and sisters in Christ through the ministry of music. Ed is the Director of Worship and Music Arts. In his few years at Prince of Peace, Ed has won the hearts of this congregation with a wide variety of music offerings involving many, and sometimes all, of the worshiping congregation in praising God. His formal music education and work experience at several churches provides a solid foundation for leading a growing music program at Prince of Peace that includes an adult choir, bell choir, praise choir, youth and children’s choirs (with the assistance of a volunteer member). When possible, Ed has organized concerts to raise funds for those in need.
