This Sunday Jesus tells us a parable. Here is a modern version of it
A rich man who was richer than most of us can even imagine, won the lottery and became even richer. He thought to himself, "what am I going to do with all of this that is mine?" So he bought more businesses, and several more mansions, each one more beautiful and more exotic than the next on sites throughout the world and new jets and helicopters to get wherever he needed to go in absolute comfort. And on the night he knew that everything was perfect for him, God came to him and said, "you fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be?" So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God." (Remember, this is a parable) (Based on Luke 12:13-21)
What a bummer. But the parable does make you think. So in this interim time here at Prince of Peace Lutheran, what are we going to do with all the wonderful people, all the facilities, all the grace, all the forgiveness and love that God has gifted the people of this church with?
See you in Church.
