Alleluia, Christ is Risen!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

This Sunday is the fifth Sunday of Easter and the resurrection Gospel is from John 14:1-14.  This is part of Jesus’ long discussion with his disciples during the last supper before his betrayal.  He continues for four full chapters through chapter 17. In this long discourse, he is preparing his disciples for his departure which includes his death and resurrection. You can read the whole text via the Readings link below.

This Sunday is Mother’s Day. Motherhood is also a reality of resurrection, the renewal and creation of new life through birth that has continued down through the generations and will continue till the end of time.

Motherhood, birth, new life, resurrection, real life, real struggle, nurturing, growing, revealing, developing, and surprising non-negotiable love. Love like a mother, love like God. This is also what Jesus is talking about in Chapter 14. So, let transformation and new life/eternal life become real. When this happens, life and faith collide and create something new. A new birth.

I encourage you to follow your heart. Let the light of God’s Grace shine in everything you do. Let the light of God’s real Forgiveness shine in everything you do.  Let the light of God’s Love shine in everything you do.  Blessings and peace be with you all!

Alleluia, Christ is Risen!
He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

See you in church,
