Happy New Year! This is a new year with new possibilities and God active in it all. Blessings and peace be with you all!
In the Gospel passage for Sunday, the writer of Matthew starts his narrative about the beginning of Jesus ministry with some very specific geographical markers. "He left Nazareth and made his home in Capernaum by the sea, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali,". What Matthew was saying was that Jesus did his ministry in a very specific real time and real place with real people and real consequences.
He was not just working to become Savior for the future but he was working to change people's lives in their time and place. He was working to make HIS world a better place, a world where God's love was present, active and connected.
So, what are we going to do? Live Grace, Live Forgiveness, Live Love, as best we are able, as best we can and transform the world, make God real. Happy New Year! This is a new year with new possibilities and God active in it all. Blessings and peace be with you all!
See you in Church,
