Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
This Sunday we celebrate the sixth and final Sunday of Lent and the beginning of Holy Week. In the words of St. Luke, the 19thchapter, we recall Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem. We can almost hear the cheering of the crowd, “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” As a sign of respect, they threw clothes and palm branches before him. The people have heard his teaching and experienced his miraculous deeds and surely God’s hand must be upon him. They can almost taste the end of the Roman oppression and their expectations run high. Yet, this one comes not on a mighty steed; instead he arrives on a donkey, a symbol of peace. I invite you to come join us as we celebrate and seek to discover more about the one who comes in peace.
Peace and Blessings,
